NAME OF PROJECT:
PROJECT FOR MAZO EGRO, CANARY lSLANDS.
Project Ridruejo was designed for a friend who gave full liberty with the project. The lot sits on top of a hill with a 75% slope during half of the lot and ends on a flat land to have the best views the house had to be placed on the highest point which was where the slope was.
The only instructions by the owner were that he wanted 3 bedrooms and a studio with the maximum privacy possible.
GARAGE AND NORTH WALL VIEW
The home consists of 4 different volumes connected by a sunken in the ground hallway. There are 2 bedrooms and a bathroom with a glass wall that breaks out of the west facade and two private decks for each room.
The hall that opens up as we leave the bedroom serves as a tv/play room and has an exit to the garden.
The central part of the house is the master bedroom. It is divided into 2 heights, the lower part is a bedroom with bathroom and on the upper floor there is a studio with a massive skylight.
We find the entrance in between the central volume and the one containing the living room with spectacular views to the valley, the kitchen, W.C, and storage. On the flat part of the lot there is a swimming pool that lies right underneath the living room and a large solarium. On the opposite side of the lot is a garage and a small studio.
The entire building is made out of white concrete, which has a great contrast with all the sharp lava rock that forms the landscape.
